Our History

In March 2004, Imagine Gift Store owners Emily Calandrelli and Gene Oberhauser purchased the historic Lyric Theatre building in Warren, RI. Wanting to restore some of the theatre's forgotten splendor, they discovered a 1929 photo of the theatre's marquee, which included a picture of a clown. That was an indication of the playful spirit they wanted in their store. By July 2004, the fully-restored Lyric Theatre was open for business as the new home of Imagine Gift Store.

Imagine is the home of seven Cow Parade cows : "Cow Express" ("The Blue Cow"), "The Divas" from the Las Vegas Cow Parade and "Cowboy" from the Houston Cow Parade, as well as "The Barn", "Americana", "Movin' All In", and "Kid's Map" purchased from other Cow Parades throughout the country.
